In recent years, LH/HG residents have sought information about the development of a two-acre parcel of tree-covered land located between the east end of Kling Drive and Deming Avenue, off of Lincolnia Road. The developer, Lincolnia Company, is calling this site “Elizabeth Crossing.”
As the plan stands now, the developer will construct several new homes on this property. The access point to some of the homes will be from Kling Drive; the other homes will be reached through a private driveway from Lincolnia Road.
On Tuesday, March 29, at 7:00 PM, Lincolnia Company will hold an informational meeting at the Mason District Governmental Center (6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003) to present the final site-development plan.
Please tell your neighbors about this meeting and plan to attend yourself!
Given current plans to develop the far west end of the City of Alexandria and the Mason District of Fairfax County, our community needs to be aware of the impact that new development will have on access to our neighborhoods, traffic on area roads, the natural environment (tree preservation, etc.), storm water runoff (into Holmes Run, for example), and many other aspects of our daily lives.

Technical Information on Elizabeth Crossing
The developer’s site plan is presently available for review at the Mason District Governmental Center. Mason District Supervisor Penny Gross has strongly encouraged the developer to communicate with residents of adjacent neighborhoods as it moves forward with Elizabeth Crossing.
This development is called a by-right cluster subdivision, which requires an administrative subdivision review process by Fairfax County. The land is zoned R-3, which means a density of 3 units per acre, and was established in the 1978 adoption of the county zoning ordinance. R-3 zoning on this property (72-2 [01] 0049A) is in character with adjacent properties, all of which are zoned R-3.
